Description
Two-and-a-half stars, that is how many stars the 1978 science-fiction movie 'Laserblast' was awarded by the esteemed film critic Leonard Maltin. However, anyone that viewed this low-budget story of a moody teenager that takes out his rage on his desert town after he discovers a powerful weapon discarded by aliens, would have to question Maltin's judgement. The crew of Mystery Science Theater 3000 certainly did, and the result was one of the best episodes manufactured by Mike and the Bots, and a smashing season finale broadcasted on Comedy Central. Nevertheless, while Laserblast is indeed a dud, it manages somehow - like many other B-horror movies - to produce a few memorable secondary characters that add color to the story. Among these are the police deputies of the small community tucked away in the California desert: Jesse Jeep and Pete Ungar.
